Who Is Sam?

My name is Sam Warner, and my story is one of resilience, redemption, and hope. I was born into a turbulent environment and faced adversity from the very beginning. Growing up in a broken family, I struggled with my identity and often felt lost and disconnected from the world around me.

Despite the challenges stacked against me, I somehow found the strength to keep going. My journey hasn’t been easy—it’s been marked by addiction, drug abuse, and violence. But through those dark times, I eventually found a way to overcome my demons and turn my life around.

The biggest turning point for me came when I became a husband and a father. My family gave me purpose and the motivation I needed to break free from the cycle of destruction I’d been trapped in. Their love and belief in me helped me see that I could live differently—that I could become the man I was meant to be.

Today, I’m proud to use my experiences to help others. I’m a lived experience public speaker with the #makeitvisible team at the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. I travel across the UK and Ireland, speaking to thousands of men about mental health and wellbeing in the construction industry.

I’m also one half of NE1's Mental Health Podcast/CIC alongside my good friend Ray Elliott. We’re both passionate advocates for mental health awareness, bringing lived experience, honesty, and compassion to everything we do. Together, we challenge stigma, open up real conversations, and help workplaces, schools, and communities across the North East to build healthier, more supportive cultures.

Through my talks and our podcast, I share my story openly—not to dwell on the past, but to show that recovery and change are possible. I want to raise awareness about the importance of looking after our mental health and wellbeing, reaching out for help, and supporting each other.

My mission now is to break the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and to encourage others to live balanced, meaningful, and happy lives. I know firsthand how hard it can be to face your struggles, but I also know that with support and determination, you can come out stronger on the other side.

As an online life coach in 2025, I recognise the prevalence of technology in our daily lives, yet I have chosen to approach it in a mindful and deliberate manner. As a coach qualified in occupational and social welfare, mindfulness and wellbeing, and a certified mental health first aider, I am trained to provide initial support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges or crises. My holistic approach to coaching focuses on nurturing mental, emotional, physical and financial wellbeing to help clients achieve balance, fulfillment, and success in all areas of their lives..
